Triple Milled Process

Triple Milled - is a soap making process which was originally used by French soap makers in the 1700’s. Triple Milled soaps may sometimes be referred to as French milled, hand milled or refined soap. This process involves running the soap through rollers and mesh at high pressure a total of three times. This step removes any air bubbles and excess water from the soap, thoroughly blending the ingredients throughout. It removes any impurities from the soap making it a perfect option for those with sensitive skin.

The resulting bar soap has a creamy, smooth lather, uniform consistency with fragrance and color that is evenly distributed. You can feel the quality of the finished product just by holding it in your hand. Because the water and air have been removed, rendering soaps that are more dense. Denser soaps are less porous, therefore making triple milled bar soaps longer lasting than hand poured soaps and commercial bars.

Triple milling can only be achieved as a commercial application because The process requires heavy duty industrial size machines. Any domestic form of milling soap is called rebatching wherein the soap is grated, melted and reformed. This will not be as smooth or last as long as the commercially manufactured milled soap.
